Following clay who has recently got his learner license, we will see his journey learning to drive.
Welcome to this first blog post. During the blog post we will unveil the journey of an individual getting his Learner license in New South Wales.
“Racing on the track and driving in the real world are two different things. It is our job when we get behind the wheel to make sure that ourselves and those around us get home safely at the end of everyday.”
When starting off it is really important to keep in your mind that you are driving a weapon. Everyone takes to driving in different ways, we start off either confident or nervous, but at the end of the day if we all have the same mindset that driving is not a given it is a privilege I believe we will have safer drivers on our roads.
Clay's Journey
Clay started off by briefly covering the Road Users' Handbook from the Services NSW.
He then went to doing the online Driver Knowledge Test multiple times before he felt confident enough to book a test at Service NSW. He then completed the test to then have his Learner license.
After waiting to get the car insurance change on his parents' car he has been driving around empty carparks a few times. Currently he has only had 3 driving experiences with his dad. Where they have just been focusing on starting, getting the manual car into first gear and getting the overall feel of the car. They have not left the carpark as of yet because they are still in the learning stage of starting up the car.
